<p>The British Gold Sovereign is known throughout the world as one of the most popular and sought after gold coins, it is also one of the longest gold coins in production and is made from 22ct gold and has been around since about 1489 when the first sovereigns were produced for Henry VI. These however are a rarity and most of us would be happy with a Victorian Gold Sovereign but if this is still out of your range what about a brand new 2011 Gold Sovereign? The London Mint Office is selling an Uncirculated 2011 Gold Sovereign for £15 less than the official issue price given by the British Mint at a reduced price of £249 you will grab yourself a bargain.</p>

The coin features Archangel Michael slaying a dragon on one side and the Queens head on the other side this coin historically dates back to the middle ages and the pure beauty of the coin is fantastic.</p>
<p>As mentioned not only do the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.paidonresults.net/c/20757/1/223/0" rel="nofollow">The London Mint Office</a> have gold coins but also a great range of silver coins as we know silver has actually gone up in price faster than gold in the past 5 years so investing in silver coins can be just as rewarding as investing in gold coins is. The London Mint Office has Silver Canadian Silver dollar, the world famous American Silver eagle one ounce of pure silver for £29.95 or you could go for the Austrian Silver Philharmoniker, again in a one ounce variety for £69.95 this was the first bullion coin to be produced in the new Euros denomination. <p>Since last year about this time when the<a target="_blank" title=" price of gold" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/"> price of gold</a> was about GBP 24.29 per gram this year this has increased to GBP 28.32 per gram in March to GBP 28.84 per gram on 13<sup>th</sup> April. As you can see gold is still continuing to rise at a very good level and over GBP 4.50 per gram higher this year than last year.</p>
<p>The Scrap gold prices have also continued to rise in line with the actual gold price and for 9 carat scrap gold the current price is £10.49 per gram, 14 carat scrap gold is £16.36 per gram, 18 carat scrap gold is £20.98 and 22 carat scrap gold is £25.63 per gram. This is a good increase from this time last year and if you then compare this to the prices which gold is selling for on eBay this month so far:</p>
<p>The krugerrand is probably the most famous of all the <a target="_blank" title="gold bullion" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/buying-gold/gold-bullion">gold bullion</a> coins and will normally come in 1 ounce coins. Historically the Krugerrand has made good money on eBay. As an example last year a 1984 Krugerrand sold for £454 and a 2008 one sold for £560 and two<a target="_blank" title=" Krugerrands" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/gold-coins/krugerrand-gold-coins"> Krugerrands</a> in mint condition dated 1979 and 1988 sold for £799.99 and £755. This year here are the results from some Krugerrand sales on eBay:</p>
<p>A One ounce 1979 Krugerrand sold for £920.01 on 13 Apr 2011. A one ounce 1975 Krugerrand sold for £900 also on the 13 apr 2011. Looking at the results on eBay a One ounce Krugerrand will now sell between £900 and just under the £1,000 for a good example which is a significant increase in the price of Krugerrands from last year.</p>

// ]]&gt;</script></p>
<p>Another gold coin which is a firm favourite is the <a target="_blank" title="Gold Sovereign" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/2009/10/23/the-gold-sovereign-coin/">Gold Sovereign</a> the full sovereign weighs about 8g and is 22 carat gold these coins are always popular on eBay and a George V was selling for about £180 to £200 last year Victorian sovereigns are more costly depending on condition. This year full Sovereigns are now selling for about £220 to £230 and Victorian ones going for  over £260. This is a big increase in a year with about £60 more being paid for Victorian sovereigns.</p>
<p>Last year the half Sovereign was selling for about £85 to £90 with exceptional uncirculated coins such as a 1910 half gold sovereign selling for £111. This year the half sovereigns are selling for about £110 with good examples and rarer years selling for about £140 and upwards, again this is well up on this time last year and the prices still seem to be not just holding but vastly increasing each year.</p>
<p><script charset="utf-8" src='http://adn.ebay.com/files/js/min/ebay_activeContent-min.js'></script><br />
<script charset="utf-8" type='text/javascript'>
document.write('<scr' + 'ipt charset="utf-8" src="http://adn.ebay.com/cb?programId=15&#038;campId=5336848496&#038;toolId=10026&#038;keyword=scrap+gold&#038;showItems=1&#038;minPrice=100&#038;maxPrice=40000&#038;width=468&#038;height=60&#038;font=1&#038;textColor=333366&#038;linkColor=333333&#038;arrowColor=A7A7A7&#038;color1=Eb9641&#038;color2=FFFFFF&#038;format=Html&#038;contentType=TEXT_AND_IMAGE&#038;enableSearch=y&#038;useeBayT=y&#038;usePopularSearches=n&#038;freeShipping=n&#038;topRatedSeller=n&#038;itemsWithPayPal=n&#038;descriptionSearch=n&#038;showKwCatLink=n&#038;excludeCatId=&#038;excludeKeyword=%28capsule%2Ccapsules%2Creplica%2C1%2F10%29&#038;catId=281%2C11116&#038;disWithin=200&#038;ctx=n&#038;flashEnabled=' + isFlashEnabled + '&#038;pageTitle=' + _epn__pageTitle + '"></scr' + 'ipt>' );
</script></p>
<p>Scrap gold is also a very popular commodity on eBay and generally goes for a better price than most places where you can exchange gold for cash. There are lots of these cash for gold firms and shops appearing on the television, internet; even the high street is starting to be full of shops all wanting gold for cash. The increase in the scrap gold price has something to do with this but you will be hard pushed to get as much for your gold from these places as selling it on eBay. Looking at recent results 7 pairs 9ct gold earrings 8gms sold for £85.52 which is about £10.50 per gram and 31.9gms of scrap 9ct gold for £323.23 which again is over £10 per gram which is better than any other place I have seen offering to buy scrap gold.</p>]]></content:encoded>

There is a vast range of gold coins available to collect but I am going to concentrate on the coins from a particular place the “Isle of Man”. The Isle of Man is a self governing dependency which is located between England and Ireland and as the name suggests is an island. The Isle of Man is only about 342 square miles and has a population of approximately 90,000 and has its own currency which is based on the British currency and because of its independent tax laws has made the Isle of Man a place for off shore bank accounts which has become one of its main sources of income along with tourism.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The amount of people who are starting to collect coins and in particular<a target="_blank" title=" gold coins" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/"> gold coins</a> is on the increase, this is because not only is it a very interesting subject to collect but due to the increasing <a target="_blank" title="price of gold" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/the-price-of-gold-march-2010">price of gold</a> it also makes a great investment.
<p>The Isle of Man produces its own range of gold coins such as the Manx Angels or Manx Crowns these coins are available in various sizes and weights and were first produced in the 18<sup>th</sup> century until the middle of the 19<sup>th</sup> century. However during the 1970’s when the Krugerrand  became very popular the Isle of Man saw a market to start reproducing there own gold coins again. These coins range in purity from 9ct to 24 ct gold. They produce an Isle of Man <a target="_blank" title="gold sovereign" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/2009/10/23/the-gold-sovereign-coin/">gold sovereign</a> which is very similar to the British sovereign and they also produce <a target="_blank" title="gold bullion" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/buying-gold/gold-bullion">gold bullion</a> coins such as the Manx coins. The I.O.M. gold sovereign is nearly exactly the same as the British one but instead of having George and the Dragon on the back it has a Norse warrior on horseback and is available in the same sizes as the British Sovereign and made from 22ct gold. They also produce a range of Gold coins in different denominations such as the Manx golden pound or two pound and five pound coins.</p>
<p>One of the most famous Isle of Man animals is the Manx cat and one of the most popular gold coins to collect is the Manx cat crowns which are made every year with a picture of a different cat on the reverse side these coins were first minted in 1988 and have become very collectible and the coins from the first 10 years can be quite hard to come across. There are some of these Coins available on eBay at the moment or you can search on the internet for coin dealers and sites which have various different Isle of Man Manx cat coin made from 24ct gold. They have also produced a wide variety of different commemorative coins of the Isle of Man with lots of different subjects such as the famous Isle of Mann TT races or subjects such as Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings sets.</p>
<p>The Isle of Man gold coins also produce a range called Isle of Man Angels these angel coins are made from 24ct gold and are released every year at Christmas time and depict one of the 12 days of Christmas theme. These coins are only released in limited numbers so have become highly collectible and sought after. The reverse side depicts St Michael killing the dragon but the privy mark is in relation to the 12 days of Christmas in 2009 this was the sixth day so had six geese are laying as a privy mark and limited to about 1,000 coins. Have a look on the internet for great bargains which can be picked up in Isle of Man gold coins they are nice to collect and will only increase in value making Isle of Man gold coins investments worthwhile. At the Moment the 1/10 oz Isle of Man Manx Cat coins are selling for approximately £110 on eBay.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p>Are you confused about where to start when it comes to collecting<a target="_blank" title=" gold coins" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/"> gold coins</a>? When you are now simply starting a collection of British gold coins or if you have been collecting Sovereigns and/or Britannias for years, the following information could be somewhat helpful.</p>
<p>Throughout history, almost every country has produced or still makes gold coins. In earlier times a number of these coins were essentially employed in the course of daily life for cash. Nowadays these gold coins are usually being made specifically designed for coin collectors or gold investors. Should you aspire to invest in gold plus would also enjoy something lovely to exhibit or have as a pursuit; nothing beats collecting <a target="_blank" title="rare gold coins" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/gold-coins/coin-collecting-%E2%80%93-early-and-rare-gold-coins">rare gold coins</a>.</p>
<p>You can build a collection of up to date gold coins or gather old and rare gold coins or a combination of both. Gold coins come in diverse sizes and weight; so as a result, any person could invest even if you are on a budget. A number of net stores or good coin retailers will offer to choose a variety of these coins from several countries and will mail them to you. The cost of these packs may be from around £500 to over £3,000. The quantity of coins you are sent will depend on numerous things including: The current value of gold; the weight and size of the included coins; their age together with their fineness.</p>
<p>British gold coins are minted at accurate weights; Full Sovereigns are 7.98g of 22 carat gold and Britannias are 34.050g or the equivalent of one ounce of gold.</p>
<p>A large number of countries these days issue a <a target="_blank" title="gold bullion" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/buying-gold/gold-bullion">gold bullion</a> coin to rival the South African Krugerrand. Many countries also produce special commemorative gold coins to celebrate the milestone of a special incident or a special incident itself. Sometimes, these special commemorative gold coins are made as boxed sets, and will probably be a limited edition, so only a precise quantity will be produced. This raises the future exclusivity value and collectability of the commemorative coins.</p>
<p>One other great benefit to amassing rare gold coins will be the fact that in a lot of countries it will be a free of tax way of investing your money as at the present many places won&#8217;t place taxes on gold coins as they can technically still be employed as legal tender. Although in reality, anybody would need to be insane to hand over a single gold sovereign coin to buy some things for one pound when it is worth over a hundred times that in <a target="_blank" title="gold scrap" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/selling-gold/selling-gold-scrap-and-gold-jewellery">gold scrap</a> value.</p>
<p>Should you start with collecting British gold coins you will soon notice that you pay more for gold coins in fine condition. As a rule, these coins are already graded for quality and the price of the British gold coins depends on the grade of the coin. Your rare gold coins will probably have to be graded by an expert when you want to relinquish your coin collection. You can frequently acquire proof versions of a lot of modern gold coins and even though you will certainly spend extra for this choice, they will be pristine and should prove a useful purchase.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is becoming increasingly popular to<a target="_blank" title=" buy gold" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/"> buy gold</a> coins as an investment. Whether you are only considering beginning a collection of one ounce Manx Crown gold coins or even if you have already owned Manx Crowns for years, this article may well be somewhat valuable.</p>
<p>Virtually every country worldwide will have made or still makes their own gold coins. In the past a lot of these valuable gold coins were essentially used during every day lives as everyday cash. At present this type of coins are minted especially for collectors of coins or gold investors. Should you choose to make gold part of your portfolio and would also love a collection that is magnificent to show-off or enjoy as a fascinating pastime; look no further than starting to <a target="_blank" title="collect gold coins" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/gold-coins/collect-gold-coins-for-a-gold-investment">collect gold coins</a>.</p>
<p>You might like to construct your collection based on newly minted coins or amass older coins or a mixture of both types. Gold coins are made in assorted values and weights, this means that you might collect even on a strict budget. Certain net websites or coin retailers will offer to choose a package of these coins originating from various countries and will then send this selection to you. The charge for these packages might be between £500-£3,000. Within them, the quantity of gold coins you are sent will be dependent upon a number of factors as in: The price of gold today; the size and weight of the gold coins; how rare they are and also their carat value.</p>
<p>Manx Crown gold coins are minted in specific weights; for this coin 31.1035g. Their fineness is 24 carat or 0.9999 which is as pure as you can get.</p>
<p>Many places now produce their own bullion gold coin to compete with the always in demand<a target="_blank" title=" gold Krugerrand" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/gold-coins/krugerrand-gold-coins"> gold Krugerrand</a> coin. Some countries also make special commemorative coins to record the milestone of a special incident or a specific incident itself. Commonly, these special commemorative coins can be bought as proof sets, and can be a limited edition, which means that only a specified quantity are issued. This concept enhances the future scarcity appreciation and desirability of these commemorative coins.</p>
<p>One more great advantage to building a collection of these coins ought to be that in a large number of places this will be a no tax way for investment as at this point many countries don&#8217;t put tax on these coins whilst they could continue to be paid out as money. However in fact, someone would need to be unhinged to hand over a single sovereign in order to buy something costing one pound since they are worth close to £150 at today&#8217;s <a target="_blank" title="gold scrap" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/selling-gold/selling-gold-scrap-and-gold-jewellery">gold scrap</a> value.</p>
<p>If you commence investing in one ounce Manx Crown gold coins you will need to pay more for coins in extra fine condition. Essentially, coins for sale are graded for quality and the value of your one ounce Manx Crown gold coins varies dependent on this grading. Your collection of gold coins will at some time need to be graded for condition by an expert anytime you decide to sell the gold coins. It is possible to in most cases obtain uncirculated issues of just about any current coins and although you may pay out a little more for this quality of coin, they should be in mint condition and may well be a worthwhile expense.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Do you like the idea of investing in<a target="_blank" title=" gold coins" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/"> gold coins</a>, but have no idea where to start? When you are only beginning to collect Canadian Maple gold coins or even if you have already collected Canadian gold coins for some time, this article may well be helpful to you.</p>
<p>Every region of the world will have made or is still producing gold coinage. In the past a variety of these valuable gold coins were in fact used during every day lives as money. But today this type of coin is made especially for collectors of coins or investors in gold. If you choose to make gold part of your portfolio and would love a collection that is delightful to flaunt or enjoy as a fascinating pastime; nothing can beat building a<a target="_blank" title=" gold coin collection" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/gold-coins/collect-gold-coins-for-a-gold-investment"> gold coin collection</a>.</p>
<p>You might like to start your collection based on current coins or alternatively hoard older coins or a mixture of both types. Gold coins are made in assorted values and weights, so everyone may collect even on a strict budget. Certain internet websites or coin dealers can make you up a collection of gold coins originating from various countries and will then send this selection to you. The amount you should expect to pay for these packages will range between £500 and £3,000. Within them, the amount of gold coins you get will be dependent upon a number of factors for instance: The current gold price; sizes and weights of the gold coins; their rarity and also their carat value.</p>
<p><script charset="utf-8" src='http://adn.ebay.com/files/js/min/ebay_activeContent-min.js'></script><br />
<script charset="utf-8" type='text/javascript'>
document.write('<scr' + 'ipt charset="utf-8" src="http://adn.ebay.com/cb?programId=15&#038;campId=5336509994&#038;toolId=10026&#038;keyword=gold+canadian+maple&#038;width=336&#038;height=280&#038;font=1&#038;textColor=000000&#038;linkColor=424242&#038;arrowColor=FF6600&#038;color1=FF9900&#038;color2=FCE032&#038;format=Flash&#038;contentType=TEXT_AND_IMAGE&#038;enableSearch=y&#038;useeBayT=y&#038;usePopularSearches=n&#038;freeShipping=n&#038;topRatedSeller=n&#038;showKwCatLink=n&#038;excludeCatId=&#038;excludeKeyword=&#038;catId=&#038;ctx=n&#038;flashEnabled=' + isFlashEnabled + '&#038;pageTitle=' + _epn__pageTitle + '"></scr' + 'ipt>' );
</script></p>
<p>Canadian Maple gold coins are produced in definite weights; in this case the one ounce Canadian Maple is 31.1030g. Its fineness is 0.9999 or 24 carat which is as near to pure gold as it is possible to get.</p>
<p><a target="_blank" href="http://rcm-uk.amazon.co.uk/e/cm?t=silvantibuyis-21&#038;o=2&#038;p=8&#038;l=as1&#038;asins=1440204241&#038;fc1=000000&#038;IS2=1&#038;lt1=_blank&#038;m=amazon&#038;lc1=0000FF&#038;bc1=000000&#038;bg1=FFFFFF&#038;f=ifr"><img src="http://goldupon.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Collecting-Gold-Coins1-150x150.jpg" alt="Collecting Gold Coins" title="Collecting Gold Coins" width="150" height="150" class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-138" /></a></p>
<p>Many places endeavour to produce their own bullion gold coin to compete with the South African<a target="_blank" title=" Krugerrands" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/gold-coins/krugerrand-gold-coins"> Krugerrands</a>. Some countries also make commemorative coins to record the observance of an event or a specific event itself. Usually, these commemorative coins are issued as presentation packs, plus in some cases will likely be of a limited number, in order that no more than a certain amount are issued. This idea promotes their scarcity appraisal together with the desirability of these gold coins.</p>
<p>One more plus to investing in these coins may be that in many places this can be a free of taxes method for investment since today most countries don&#8217;t put tax on these coins whilst they could continue to be used as money. Realistically though, anyone would be crazy to use a sovereign in order to purchase anything costing a pound since they are worth many multiples of that at today&#8217;s <a target="_blank" title="gold scrap" href=" http://goldupon.co.uk/selling-gold/selling-gold-scrap-and-gold-jewellery">gold scrap</a> value.</p>
<p>If you decide to invest in Canadian Maple gold coins you will need to pay more for any coins that you buy which are in extra fine condition. Generally, coins are graded and the value of your Canadian Maples will vary dependent on the grading. Your ungraded coins will possibly need to be graded for condition by a professional grader anytime you decide to sell the gold coins. It is possible to typically obtain uncirculated issues of many recently produced coins and although you are going to pay out a premium for these, they should be mint and will probably be a good strategy.</p>]]></content:encoded>
